Thursday 3rd March - "Clean for the Queen".
The school council participated in a nationwide event to help clean their school and surrounding area, ready for the Queens birthday in June. They managed to fill three whole bags of rubbish!!!

Some of the Year 6 children rose to the challenge and came into school for some additional school work this Easter. The children benefited from a Maths day in small ability groups and a Grammar Day which gave children one-to-one tuition on aspects they needed support with. The final day, as a reward for their effort, the children took part in a MASSIVE water fight on the school grounds!
Well done to all the children who came along to Easter School. We hope you enjoyed it.
Spring 2015 Cup Nominations
Well done to all the children who were nominated for a trophy this term. You have shown resilience, perseverance and reflectiveness in your learning. Your names will now be added to the Wootey Wall of Fame.
Parents and children enjoyed an afternoon of Easter craft making throughout the school. Finger puppets, tissue paper flowers, decorated eggs and bunny ears were a few of the different activities on offer.

Both the Infant and Junior schools came together for the annual Easter egg hunt within the school grounds. Fun was had by all and it was lovely to see the older children looking after the little ones.

Year 6 are currently designing Pacman games with Miss Atkin at Eggars for their Computing lessons. Hopefully we will upload some of the finished games soon.
The Children enjoying sweets and chocolates at the after school Maths club whilst trying to tackle some tricky problem solving. Mr Mills taught the group how to find the area of circles as well as tackling some challenging Level 6/7 maths questions on algebra.

Harvest Celebration with Aldi
Well done to Beatrice Hodge in Year 4 who won the Healthy Eating Poster Competition from Aldi. The school were also delighted to receive an array of fruit and breakfast items for the whole school to try after the Harvest Assembly.
CM Sports Hockey Tournament
Wootey Junior School won the CM Sports Alton Hockey Tournament on Friday 24th October beating Anstey, Bordon and Andrews Endowed without conceding a single goal! Very well done to the whole team.
Times Tables Rock Concert
Wootey Junior School enjoyed its first ever rock concert! Rock Steady came into school as part of the launch day for a new times tables challenge. Children enjoyed a whole variety of songs from the musicians whilst also learning about the importance of practising something to become good at it. Just like the musicians who practise every day, the children need to learn their times tables every day.
Fun was had by all!
