Sainsbury's Sports Kite mark

As a result of a year’s hard work from all the children and staff we were thrilled to achieve the Sainsburys’s School Games Bronze Kite mark. To achieve this, the school has actively engaged all children in two hours PE a week as well as encouraging them to participate in extra-curricular sports clubs, including rugby, football, dancing and more. Children have also been given the opportunity to lead and support activities as Sports Leaders throughout the year. The children’s sporting abilities were tested against one another and other local schools in intra-school and inter-school sports competitions. We were thrilled to make it to the final of the Schools Hampshire Games tournament at the Aldershot Military Stadium. The children finished off the year with a fantastic Sports Day with all Children actively taking part. Our ambition for next year is to target Silver in the School Games Award through providing more Intra (competitions within PE lessons and clubs in school) and Inter (Competitions against other schools) events. A new Sports Committee will be set up to help organise and run events in school.
