We all woke this morning with heavy hearts and even heavier eyelids; the grey skies slightly reflecting our mood at having to leave the island! After packing our bags (with various degrees of success!) and waving goodbye to Bernie and Leslie and the Curraghmore, we set off for Carisbrooke Castle.
When we arrived, we had just enough time to take a tour of the battlements before the heavens opened, forcing us to take cover inside. We didn't let the weather get us down though as one person commented 'we're not going to let it become a damp squid!!!!!'
Once back on the mainland, having refuelled with a lunch on the ferry, we took a very blowy walk along the seafront at Southsea with plenty of rolling down hills and watching the waves crash over the sea wall. Then it was time to return to school and to our waiting mums, dads, nannies, aunties, brothers and sisters.
We would like to thank all the children for their amazing enthusiasm and fantastic behaviour across the whole week - they have been a credit to the school and an absolute pleasure to be away with!
We would also like to thank Mr McKell, Ms Vincent and Mrs McPherson for their relentless patience, songs, stories and care that they have shown the children across the week. Without them, the visit would not have been possible and certainly would not have been as much fun.
Now it's time to catch up some sleep and prepare for the leaver's disco on Monday night and the leaver's assembly on Tuesday.
From a very proud and very tired Mr Wallis and Mr Mills
