Attendance
Attendance Matters
At Wootey Junior School, we want the amount of missed education to be reduced as much as possible. We believe that our community is stronger together, with all our children in school, on time, every day. We are learning, building friendships and having fun together.
We also know that you can have a significant effect on your child’s absences and we appreciate your help and support in ensuring that your child has attended school regularly so that they can get the best possible outcomes. These are the ways you can help:
Supporting Good Attendance
- Schedule medical appointments outside school hours when possible
- Send your child to school if they are only slightly unwell – https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/is-my-child-too-ill-for-school/
- Provide medical evidence for appointments during school hours
- Contact us early if your child becomes reluctant to attend school
- Do not take term time holiday
The chart below shows the impact of lost attendance.
